Hats and Wraps
I prefer to hand make everything to order. However, I do have some hats, wraps and scarves in stock and in the shop. If you see something you like but it is not in your size or colour, I can make it to fit you at no extra cost provided I have the fabric. I also like to make things on the spur of the moment and may put these in the shop from time to time. If you are interested in any 'one offs' please let me know so I can keep in touch.
Hat Sizes
Please choose the style you like, then your colours then the size. If you are matching an outfit, if possible, send me a swatch of fabric or some colour ways that would tone with it. I am happy to correspond with you on your requirements.
Here’s how it works:
1. Measure your head (see below)
2. I will help you choose a style that suits your face shape if you are unsure
3. You decide whether the hat has any additional adornment (e.g chain, band or rose brooch)
4. You choose the yarns and colours that suit you and your outfits
5. I take a £10 deposit
6. The hat is made
7. You pay the outstanding balance when the hat is ready for dispatch
8. You may either collect the hat from the Nicky Stevenson Gallery in Brixham or I can send it
If the appropriate yarn/fabric is in stock, a hat can be made within 7 - 14 days. If yarn/fabric has to be ordered this would extend to 4-5 weeks.
To Measure for a Hat
Use a tape measure to put around your head where you would like the brim to sit, then across the crown from ear to ear, again where you like to wear your hat, allowing for the height and thickness of your hair and how snug you like it to feel. This is not an exact science, but I will aim to get within 2cm of the desired size.
